Book Exchange

During book exchange, students in 1st-5th have the opportunity to check out up to two books, kindergarten may choose 1.  Older students may also check out addition project related books if needed.  After selecting their books and checking out, students then have the opportunity to read their books or participate in Makerspace stations around the library.  The stations are designed to give students a hands on opportunity to explore various STEAM related materials.

Check out Lost/Damaged Book Policy:

Each student is responsible for his/her own library books.  A typical checkout time is one week, though some students due opt to renew books and keep them longer.

If a book is damaged, the librarian will do everything to try to repair it, if possible, to avoid the student having an obligation.  If, however, the material is lost or damaged beyond repair, families are asked to pay the full cost to replace the book.  A lost/damaged book letter will be sent home detailing the information needed to meet the obligation.  While we understand some materials have more ware and tear than others, we must replace the materials with new copies and therefore require the full cost for replacement.  We ask that families do not purchase their own copy of the material to replace lost or damaged books as our books come from a vendor that processes them specifically for library usage.

If a book is lost and is located and returned prior to the end of the school, families will receive a full refund of the cost paid.  Refunds will not be given past the last day of the school year in which the material was lost.

Thank you for your understanding and support of our policies as they help to maintain a current and highly engaging collection for our students.
